What the free SEO audit checks
The check reads up to 20 public pages and runs the same tests on each one, so a problem repeated across a template shows up as a pattern instead of a single result.
- Titles and meta descriptions
- Missing, duplicated, or truncated titles across the pages it reads, and which pages share one description.
- Headings and page structure
- Pages with no H1, more than one H1, or a heading order that skips levels.
- Structured data
- Whether each page carries valid JSON-LD, and which schema types are present.
- Canonicals and indexability
- Canonical tags, noindex directives, and pages that point somewhere other than themselves.
- Internal links
- Which pages link to which, the anchor text used, and pages nothing links to.
- Images and responses
- Images with no alt text, and any page that returns an error or a redirect chain.
What a page crawl cannot tell you
Reading a page shows what the page says. It cannot show how many people found that page, which searches they typed, or where the page ranked when Google showed it. Those numbers live in Google Search Console, and only the site’s verified owner can read them.
Treat the score as a list of things worth fixing on the page, then use Search Console to find out whether fixing them changed anything. If you own the site, you can connect Search Console and see both together.

- How many pages does it read?
- Up to 20: the homepage plus 19 more it finds by following internal links. It skips anything robots.txt disallows.
- Can I audit a site I do not own?
- Yes. The check reads public pages the same way any crawler does, so it works on a competitor or a prospect. It has no access to their Search Console data, and neither do you.
- Does the audit tell me my rankings or traffic?
- No. Crawling a page shows what the page says. Clicks, impressions, and position come from Google Search Console, which only the site's verified owner can connect.
